Ahmed Deedat surely deceived Muslims by quoting the “Lord, lord” verse out of context. It is a verse which is very easy to understand:

“Not EVERYONE who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
(Matthew 7:21)

Jesus is making an EXCLUSIVE claim to be the only LORD one must acknowledge inorder to be SAVED. Jesus’s claim is based on a prophecy of himself (the Branch) made by the prophets of old:
“ ‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteous SAVIOR .’ (Jeremiah 33:15‭-‬16).

1. From a basic comprehension of this verse do you agree that Jesus confirms that ONLY THOSE who call him Lord AND do the will of the Father, WILL enter the kingdom of heaven?

2. THOSE who call him Lord AND do his Father’s will, will cast out demons and prophesy etc in his name and WILL enter the kingdom of heaven

3. According to Jesus, is there any other Lord that you can call out, other than Jesus himself, and still be saved?

LET’S CHECK WHAT JESUS SAID REGARDING THIS:

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
John 3:36

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”
John 11:25‭-‬27

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6

But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”
John 8:23‭-‬24
